Rath Yatra is a centuries-old festival that takes place mainly in Jagannath Puri, Orissa. It is a festival that celebrates the return of Krishna (Jagannath), His brother Balarama and sister Subhadra from Mathura to Vrindavan, after defeating the demon Kamsa and becoming King. It also represents bringing Krishna back into our hearts.

Join us in recreating the atmosphere of Puri and the Rath Yatra festival. Children will get bring the Rath from the school grounds, as per the traditional customs. It promises to be great fun for kids especially!

Evening Programme:

• 4:30pm – Uplifting Bhajans
Sing along to energetic bhajans and hari naam kirtan. Try it, you will actually find it uplifting!

• 5:45pm – Rath Yatra
The delightfully decorated full sized Rath with Shree Jagannath, Balarama & Subhadra and will be pulled around the school grounds by everyone whilst singing, playing music and celebrating. Don’t miss your chance to pull our Rath!

• 6:30pm – Aarti & Full Prasad Dinner
Come along to take the opportunity to de-stress, cleanse the mind and refresh the soul with uplifting Bhajans & Hari Naam Kirtan – for free!

Special Vaishnav Prasad dinner will also be served so do bring along friends and family to this friendly, informal event. We look forward to seeing you there.
